Worship and Witness Committee at Shallotte

Meetings scheduled for 2^nd Monday night
of each month at 7:00 PM

1. Responsible for worship as guided by the Book of Order’s Directory for Worship.

2. Oversight of the Chancel Committee’s work and the recommendation of persons serving on the Chancel Committee to the Session for their approval.

3. Responsible for collecting the Ritual of Friendship tablets each Sunday following worship.

4. Oversight of the assignment of Elders to serve Holy Communion and the oversight of the preparation and clean-up of the elements for Communion.

5. Recruits and trains greeters for worship services and provides list of greeters monthly to the Church Secretary.

6. Oversight and recruitment of the training of Acolytes for worship. Provides a list of acolytes serving by date to the church secretary.

7. Coordinates with the Minister the sequence and proportion of elements of worship.

8. Coordinates with the Minister any special worship services and supporting activities of those services.

9. Oversight and supervision of Wedding Coordinator as coordinated with the Minister.

10. Oversees the music ministry and drama ministry of the church as coordinated with the Minister.

11. Serves as liaison with the following: Choir, Presbyterian Men, Presbyterian Women.

12. Arranges for Temporary Supply of pulpit when the Minister is absent and is coordinated with Minister when possible.

13. Provides and ensures for seasonal emphasis during the church liturgical year.

14. Aids in meeting the special needs of this congregation and beyond for mission opportunities.

15. Responsible for handling Publicity with Media, advising public of Church functions, including advertising weekly services in local newspaper. .

16. Responsible for Evangelism opportunities for the congregation and keeping the awareness of the Great commission’s responsibility for each Christian before the Congregation.

17. Responsible for follow-up of visitors from the local community.

18. The Beach Committee functions as a sub-committee of the Worship Committee.
