At Home Worship

The session met Friday (March 13th) to determine whether or not we would gather together in worship this week and beyond. The decision to suspend worship and other gatherings at the church through the end of March was made out of deep love and sincere concern. So many of those we hold dear as family or friends face higher health risks than normal right now.
When we started this Lenten journey, none of us could have imagined being led this far into the wilderness of uncertainty. And yet here – even here! – God is with us.
We can trust that God – Father, Son and Spirit – will continue to draw us near while we worship as a body dispersed, rather than congregated. Our homes shall be our sanctuaries; our households will gather in spirit to watch and listen and read and sing together, scattered as we are, all along our beautiful stretch of the Carolina coastline.
Click here to find a bulletin you can use to worship along with me and Randy. We recorded this one on my phone in the sanctuary, so it’s not professional… but it is heartfelt. We missed having all your voices join us. And yet sensed your presence. I hope you feel likewise as you worship.
We may be able to move toward a live video service, and it will be nice to have our video crew on hand for the next round. But for now, I give thanks that we have the means to muddle through this new way to love God and one another.
Remember, even in these strange wilderness days, grace abounds!
Much love and many blessings,
